Alex confirmed that the demo Smoggy wanted Damon to finish for 25 years, which became The Ballad, the opening song from The Ballad of Darren, is indeed Half a Song.

this should have been the original glitter freeze. this just has more power and emphasis into it. But i think it makes us appreciate the other songs on the album as well. If this was in plastic beach, it would have taken off, and not been nearly as popular as other songs.
